10 years ago, 'IndigoLeap' was our analytics password, giving us access to some awesome insights. We grew to love this word as we used it to answer: ‘What can we find to help our clients grow?'

In 2018 we launched IndigoLeap as this key question is what still drives us today.

We live for insights. Finding them quickly, giving you the edge, getting you closer to your targets. Nothing gets us more excited than making groundbreaking discoveries and taking leaps forward. We hate avoidable waste in marketing activity.

There's always a better way of doing things and we obsess about finding it.

Sarah Johnson

Sarah has worked in digital marketing for over 15 years, starting her career in a specialist search engine marketing agency, driving revenue for high-growth start-ups, on her way to becoming Head of Digital Marketing at top creative agency Whitespace.

A self-confessed stat geek, she has run large-scale evaluation and insight projects for a wide range of clients across both the public and private sectors - focusing on UX and ROI improvement. She has also developed digital strategies and delivered award winning marketing campaigns for both house-hold name clients and high growth SMEs.

As co-founder and director of IndigoLeap, Sarah channels her expertise into helping clients identify opportunities to better engage customers, drive new acquisition and improve performance across their digital platforms and channels. She ensures that clients are adopting the latest marketing technology for their unique needs and that marketing budget is deployed in the most effective way. Her analytical, ROI focused approach brings unique insight and has helped clients overhaul their digital platforms and user journeys, transform their search engine coverage, and vastly increase social interaction and engagement.

Sarah has a passion for training and knowledge-sharing, aiming to demystify digital marketing and data analysis and share the excitement of conversion rate optimisation and marketing trends. She is also a regular speaker on generational behaviours and traits, with a focus on Generation Z and the future of education and marketing.  Sarah frequently speaks at conferences and events, and delivers coaching, training courses and ongoing support to clients.


Sonia Rutherford

Sonia has over 20 years’ marketing experience, both client-side and agency-side, through the full business life-cycle.

Responsible for cross-channel marketing budgets ranging from shoestring to seven-figures, Sonia has always focused on generating ROI. Highlights included creating effective sponsorships, events, websites and content to support entrepreneurs.

As Account Director at award-winning agency Whitespace, Sonia's ability to develop robust marketing strategies doubled her client accounts in little over a year. As Commercial Director, she was integral to securing large-scale contracts worth over £10m for public, private and third sector clients.

With an unparalleled aptitude for process evaluation and improvement, Sonia initiated and led a successful Sunday Times Best Companies accreditation for staff engagement (one of only 23 companies in Scotland to achieve this in 2016), drove creation of an intern academy and developed an induction programme rated by 90% of new starts as the ‘best induction ever received’.

Since co-founding IndigoLeap, Sonia has applied this experience for corporate clients, when developing marketing strategies based on rigorous analysis, aligning digital reporting with board-level priorities and designing bespoke digital marketing training programmes. She has advised SMEs on shaping business models for optimal customer acquisition, and written numerous digital marketing training guides for the public sector. She has led brand effectiveness evaluation for a charity leading to award nominations and also supports other agencies with in-house process development, training, winning business and award entries.
